City Government

The City of Walcott operates under a Mayor/City Council form of government.  The City Council meets the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.  The public is welcome to attend City Council Meetings.  The Mayor and City Council Members are elected for a four year staggered term. 

BOARDS & COMMISSIONS 

The Planning & Zoning Commission is composed of seven residents of the City of Walcott and is appointed by the City Council for a term of five years. The Planning & Zoning Commission meets as needed on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall and is chaired by Mike Byington.  Other board members are:  Mike Sissel, Tim Koehler, Lon Warnecke, David Trees, Trish Moses, and Bernard Brus.      

The Zoning Board of Adjustments is composed of five residents of the City of Walcott and is appointed by the City Council for a term of five years. The Zoning Board of Adjustments meets at such times and as frequently as such Board may determine necessary.  Board members are:  Brent Arp (Chairperson), Jason Holdorf, Kristal Koberg-Schaefer, Sandy Liebbe, and Larry Snyder.              

The Park and Recreation Board is composed of five residents of the City of Walcott and is appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council for overlapping five year terms.  The Park and Recreation Board meets as needed on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall and is chaired by Virgil Lund. Other board members are:  Danielle Blake, Mike Clayton, Brian Mengler, and Greg Riessen.
