The Walcott Police Department is dispatched through the Scott County
Sheriff’s Department. If
a Walcott officer is not on duty the Scott County Sheriff’s
Department is available for police services.
Any time you need emergency police assistance call 911.
If a Walcott officer is on duty he will respond,
otherwise the Sheriff’s Department will be dispatched.
You can also call the Scott County Sheriff’s office
at (563) 326-8628 if you need police services.
Our non-emergency numbers are not answered
24 hours a day, but messages can be left and a Walcott officer
will return your call.

The Walcott
Fire Department provides emergency medical, fire, and rescue
services to the city and rural district, covering
approximately 62 square miles, with a total population of
approximately 2,313.
The
department is composed of nearly 20 members who have undergone
considerable initial training before acceptance for
membership, followed by monthly training sessions in
firefighting, rescue and emergency medical techniques. All of the
members are trained in CPR and most of the members are
certified medical
first responders or emergency
medical technicians.
The
department has two pumpers, one tanker, one brush truck and two rescue units in
active service. All
of the vehicles are well equipped with specialized tools.
