WALCOTT
WESCOTT AND VICTORY PARK SHELTER RESERVATION POLICY
Anyone wishing to
reserve a park shelter may call the Walcott City Hall at 284-6571 ext. 10 at
anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
- Reservations may be
made no earlier than six months prior to the anticipated date of use.
- Shelters may be
reserved for the entire day (within park hours) or for some other specific
time period
- Shelters may not be
reserved the third Saturday of July or the week of the annual fast pitch
softball tournament.
- Shelters may be reserved for a non-refundable shelter reservation fee of
$25.00. Reservations will become effective when the reservation form
and the applicable fee are remitted to the City Clerk’s
office.
- Anyone reserving a
shelter must be at least 18 years of age. Proof of age may be requested.
- Charitable, State, and
local governmental organizations shall be exempt from reservation fees.
- Unreserved shelters are available to be enjoyed by the general public on a
first come, first serve basis.
- Anyone utilizing any
park shelter shall clean up the shelter and surrounding area when through.
- No pets are allowed to
be on park property except for service dogs.
- The person or entity
whose name a shelter is reserved under shall be responsible for any damage
that may occur to the shelter and/or surrounding area during the time that
the shelter is reserved.
- The person or entity
whose name the shelter is reserved under shall be responsible for the
actions of all persons attending the activity during the time that the
shelter is reserved.
- Any person reserving
and/or utilizing a park shelter shall at all times adhere to the rules,
regulations and laws of the City of Walcott and the State of Iowa which
governs such activities and/or use of said public property.
- All persons utilizing
park shelters are reminded to be considerate of the neighboring residences
that surround the parks.
- The use of the shelter
and the utilities connected to and associated with the reservation of the
shelter is limited solely to the person or group reserving the shelter and
is not transferable.
Thank
you for taking the time to review these simple rules and guidelines. As a party reserving a park shelter, you may
be held responsible for any damages that may occur as the result of the use of
these facilities. Please report any
damage that you may notice prior to your use of these facilities to the Walcott
Police Department at 284-6571 ext 14 or to City Hall at 284-6571 ext. 10 as
soon as possible.
As
you know, rules are for everyone. The
need for rules is caused by the thoughtless behavior of just a few. Please take pride in our communities’
parks, have a good time, and leave them in a better condition than what you
found them. Thank you once again.
The
City of Walcott reserves a right to refuse a reservation and adjust schedule
for special events.
