Water Department - Sewer & Solid Waste - Street Dept

The Public Works Dept. maintains all of the streets within the city limits of the City of Walcott including Sterling Drive, Walker St., Soenke St., Clarke St. and Interstate St. at the Iowa 80 intersection.

The Public Works Dept. is responsible for proper drainage, cleaning, and regular maintenance of all streets. The City of Walcott has just purchased a Street Sweeper and are working up a schedule for an annual Spring and Fall Street Sweeping program and when needed will be swept in between these times to help maintain the beauty of Walcott.

SNOW REMOVAL:
The Public Works Dept. goal is to insure Safe and drivable streets during the winter months. Major Streets are plowed and/or salted/sanded anytime unsafe conditions exist. We do have a planned route for our plows to follow to assist the general public in leaving or returning to town. Street Department
