NOTICE: In
the fall of the year, we have a special program that allows the
residents of Walcott to bag leaves from their lawns, and either
take them to the compost area themselves for disposal or call
Public Works for a pickup. This program normally runs from October
through November. If you take the leaves to the compost area
yourselves, there are rules for this also. You MUST NOT leave
the bags or containers that you haul your leaves in there. Only
dispose of the leaves in the area marked with a sign for them. DO
NOT combine leaves and sticks in the same spot. We
have signs posted for different areas.
COMPOST AREA: The compost area is currently
open to Walcott residents. Acceptable items include: leaves, brush, trees,
limbs, grass, and garden vegetation. Please do not leave
bags at the area.
MOTOR OIL:
May bring to PUBLIC WORKS DEPT. for recycling.
BURNING: There is
a “NO BURN” Policy in the City of Walcott.
